From 2002 to 2008, unemployment in Greece has slightly decreased, from 9.98% of the total labor force in 2002 to 7.76% in 2008. From 2008 to 2013, it increased to reach it highest value of the past 15 years, with 27.47% of the total labor force unemployed. In 2016, unemployment of the total labor force in Greece was about 23.91%.

Unemployment in Macedonia (FYROM) (2002 – 2016)

From 2002 to 2005, unemployment in Macedonia (FYROM) increased from 31.94% of the total labor force to 37.29% (estimated by the International Labour Office). Since then, unemployment has decreased constantly, reaching in 2016 26.73% of the total labor force.

From 2002 to 2007, unemployment has decreased in Venezuela, from 16.2% of the total labor force to 7.47%. Since then, it has remained stable, reaching 7.4% on average over the period of time 2007-2016.

Unemployment in Turkey (2002 – 2016)

During the past 15 years, unemployment has evolved in different phases in Turkey. Form 2002 to 2005, it remained stable, with 10.59% of the total labor force unemployed. It reached 8.71% the next year (2006) but grew up to 12.5% in 2009. During the next three years, it came back to its lowest value of the past 15 years, with 8.14% of the total labor force unemployed. Finally, since then, it has increased, reaching 10.33% in 2016.

Unemployment in Ecuador (2002 – 2014)

From 2002 to 2011, unemployment in Ecuador (as the percentage of the total labor force) have decreased by 57.7%. In 2002, it reached 9.1%, while in 2011 it was about 4.19%. Since 2010, unemployment remained under 5% of the total labor force, with on average 4.41% (2010 – 2014). Data are based on estimates by the International Labour Organization.

From 2002 to 2008, unemployment has decreased in France, from 8.7% of the total labor force to 7.4%. Since 2008, it has been increasing, reaching 9.9% of the total labor force in 2014.
